Preparation Instructions

# New Wood Preparation

For new wood, allow it to weather for six weeks to wash away any coatings. After this period, lightly sand the surface to eliminate excess fibres and splinters, then wipe it down with a lint-free cloth dampened with methylated spirit.

# Old Garden Wood Preparation

Old or previously painted wood requires quick sanding to remove any loose paint for a smooth finish. Clean the surface with white spirit to eliminate dirt or grease, removing any mould or algae. If any wood is rotten, ensure it's either cut away or treated to harden it. Use a stiff wire brush for sheds and fences.
