Application Instructions

# Preparation

- For new wood, allow it to weather for six weeks before sanding lightly to remove any excess fibres and splinters. Wipe the surface with a lint-free cloth dampened with methylated spirit.

- Old wood should be sanded down to remove loose paint and provide a smooth surface. Use white spirit to wipe away dirt or grease, and ensure any mould, algae, or rotten wood is addressed prior to painting.

- For brick or stone, simply brush away debris before applying the paint.

- When preparing terracotta, sand until any glaze is fully removed; water should not bead on the surface.

- Ensure metal surfaces are adequately primed before application.

# Painting

- Stir the paint well to ensure even colour distribution. Test on a small, hidden area first to confirm satisfaction with the shade.

- When painting wood, brush in the direction of the grain. Allow the first coat to dry for four hours before applying a second, and lightly sand between the second and third coats for a smooth finish.

Aftercare

To prolong the lifespan of your finish, regularly clean the painted surfaces, and reapply as necessary when the finish begins to look worn.
