This de Buyer frying pan is an ideal pan for preparing the perfect dishes. The pan is made of sheet steel, which heats up quickly and tolerates high temperatures. De Buyer Pans contain a high carbon content. This allows the pans to last a lifetime, provided you take good care of them. Like all de Buyer pans, the pan must first be burned in. Read below how best to do this. Before using a de Buyer steel pan you must first burn it to create a non-stick layer. To burn in the pan you need a type of oil, however olive oil does not work well, it cannot handle high temperatures. Put the pan on the stove and heat it on low heat. Pour a generous layer of oil into the pan and let it heat for 5 minutes.
