Description
Black Jack Roofing Felt Adhesive from Everbuild is a 25-litre, cold-applied, black oxidised bitumen-based adhesive designed for bonding roofing felts to a range of substrates. It adheres to concrete, asphalt, metal and wood and conforms to BS 8217-1994 guidelines. The adhesive can be applied by brush or mop and should be left open for 15–30 minutes before laying the felt. Once placed, rub or roll the felt to maximise contact and minimise air pockets, then apply weight until full adhesion is achieved. It offers high bond strength and is suitable for bonding all roofing felts to various materials, including use in gritting and sealing laps and bonding chippings to the final felt layer. The product has a storage life of 24 months in sealed containers.
For timber roofs, nail the first felt layer and use the adhesive for subsequent layers. Prime porous concrete surfaces before applying the first layer. The adhesive is versatile enough for roofs with a 10° slope, and should be applied evenly in 20 m sections on a clean, dry surface. The product is available in a 25-litre tin and is designed to bond to metal, concrete, timber and other common roofing substrates.
For those seeking additional options, the adhesive is available in other sizes as part of the same range, offering flexibility for different project scales.
