Description
Osmo Country Colour in Charcoal is a premier exterior wood finish designed to protect and beautify outdoor timber. It combines the benefits of an oil with the appearance of paint, offering strong weather and UV resistance while remaining microporous and breathable. This means the coating allows the wood to breathe, helping to prevent cracking, peeling or flaking, and reducing wood swelling and shrinkage over time. The product is ready to use with no thinning required, making application straightforward. It is suitable for exterior joinery and provides a durable, natural look. The finish is opaque and aims to maintain the wood’s appearance with minimal maintenance, avoiding the need for sanding between coats.
The coating is formulated to be used on timber with a maximum moisture content of 20%. For best results, apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation if possible, and apply thinly and evenly along the grain using an Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller. Typical performance details include a drying time of 10–12 hours and coverage of about 26 m² per litre per coat, with two coats recommended for optimal protection.
In addition to its protective properties, the product is designed to be easy to apply and maintain, helping to keep exterior joinery looking good with minimal effort. The finish remains flexible enough to resist common weathering stresses and is suitable for applications where a natural oil appearance is desired.
