Ilse Jacobsen is a Danish designer and entrepreneur. She gets her inspiration for her collections mainly from the soothing nature around the town of Hornbæk, where she grew up. As a nature lover she spent a lot of time on the beaches and in the dune landscapes of Denmark. As the weather was often rainy and she was regularly in wetlands, rainproof clothing was not a luxury. In 1993 Ilse started her own shop in Hornbæk, where she offered her first collection of rain boots. Not much later she designed a raincoat collection, so that people who loved nature as much as they did were protected from precipitation during their walks and outdoor activities.

Today Ilse Jacobsen's assortment consists of much more than just functional rainwear. Although the clothing offered by this brand today is still very functional, more attention is paid to elegance and femininity.
