The trimmer limit switch (TL) is located on the left side of the gimbal housing. This switch allows only a limited outward trimming path to ensure safe control at high speeds and prevent damage to the drive unit or trim cylinder due to a lost side support of the drive unit. The transmitter for the trim position (TP) is installed on the opposite side (headboard). If there is no trim position indicator, an empty and unmarked housing is installed instead of the TP. With the tilt and trim unit, you can optimise the performance of your boat by adjusting the angle of the engine, which in turn adjusts the tread of the boat. The ability to tilt and trim your engine improves boat performance in a variety of conditions, from smoothing a rough ride on heavy seas to reducing draughts in shallow waters.
