The NGK CR6HIX is part of the NGK Iridium IX range.NGK Iridium IX is the performance upgrade from a standard plug. The 0.6 mm fine-wire iridium centre electrode needs less voltage to fire and produces a more concentrated spark, giving quicker starting, crisper throttle response and steadier idle, particularly on high-compression, tuned or high-revving engines. Iridium is around six times harder than platinum and wears very slowly, so the gap stays accurate far longer than nickel. The tapered ground electrode reduces quenching of the flame kernel. Fitted in place of the equivalent standard NGK plug of the same heat range; check the gap before installation.

Excellent starting behaviour: The laser-welded iridium centre electrode (Ø 0.6 mm) minimises the ignition voltage requirement for optimum ignition. Special technology against sooting: Spark plugs with an extremely thin, laser-welded centre electrode and a special technology against ignition problems caused by sooting. Lower fuel consumption: With better ignition behaviour, Iridium IX spark plugs save costs due to lower fuel consumption.
