The oil is steam distilled from the dried rhizome or root of the Valerian, which is a herb native to Asia that grows up to 1.5 metres in height. AROMATHERAPY - Valerian is extremely relaxing and soothing and particularly good at encouraging a restful night. However, many find the aroma unpleasant and you may have to blend with other oils to lift this. DIY TIP - For a restful night's sleep try 1 drop of Valerian, 2 drops of Roman Chamomile and 1 drop of Lavender, with 10ml of Coconut oil. Massage all over the body, and lie back in a warm bath. AROMA - Valerian has a pungent, deeply musky, earthy aroma. This can be lifted by blending with Roman or Morrocan Chamomile, Patchouli, Lavender or Sweet Orange.
