Made for mason bees to nest in: Most insect hotels are packed with bamboo and bits of pine cone that look pretty but give bees nowhere reliable to nest. This one is built for Red Mason bees and other solitary bees, with 72 tubes that are 8mm across inside and 150mm deep. That's the size a female mason bee looks for when she's laying her eggs. Replaceable tubes that last for years: The tubes pull out, so once the young bees have hatched you can put in fresh ones instead of throwing the whole thing away. Clean tubes keep the bees healthy from one year to the next. We sell replacement tubes on their own, so the house itself lasts for years. Pine wood with a bee-safe finish: It's made from solid pine and sealed with a food-grade, water-based varnish, just acrylic resin and purified water, so there's nothing harmful near the bees. The roof overhangs the front to keep the rain off the tubes, and the sides close in to shelter them from wind and cold. Comes ready to put up: Everything's in the box: mounting screws, wall plugs, two keyhole brackets already fitted on the back, and an Allen key for the odd bit of maintenance. Put it up on a sunny wall, fence, shed or garage and that's it. Good for your garden and for British bees: Mason bees are gentle and hardly ever sting, and they pollinate garden flowers, fruit trees and veg better than honeybees do. Each house has our Always Bee Happy logo laser-engraved on the front, so it looks good on the wall and makes a lovely gift for a gardener or wildlife lover.
