Limited 2000 vintage Islay single malt finished in Spanish Tempranillo casks after 25 years, offering peat-smoked aromas of coffee and smoked fruit with notes of BBQ ribs, paprika and mustard seeds. A rare, historic finish from a unique batch. Ardbeg Vintage_Y2k 3rd Release Islay Single Malt Scotch 25 year old 48% ABV Nose: Very subtly smoky, with hints of smoked blackcurrants, chilli chocolate, and a curious whiff of aged balsamic vinegar. A few drops of water there are hints of linseed oil, creosote, and smoked paprika. Palate: Rich, spicy and smoky, with flavours of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, smoked fruits and a touch of BBQ spare ribs. There are some classic Ardbeg medicinal notes, like menthol, eucalyptus and camphor, along with touches of paprika, mustard seed a Finish: The after taste is lingering and zesty and is reminiscent of lime pickle and tar.
