Size l for Big coats: a large head covers more ground per pass, which is what a German Shepherd, a Husky or a Newfoundland actually needs. A small rake on a big dog is an hour wasted. Less hair on everything: proper de-shedding removes the coat before it falls. Done weekly through a moult it makes a visible difference to the house. Leaves the Top coat alone: the rake takes the loose undercoat and passes through the guard hairs, so the weatherproof outer coat stays where it belongs.
