Limited heritage single malt cask release, distilled in 1973 and aged 45 years in a refill American hogshead, cask 4607. Bottled at 50.1% abv, only 66 bottles worldwide. Benromach Heritage Single Cask #4607 45 year old 50.1% ABV Nose: Sweet top notes of pear drops, lime and lemon sherbet mingle with creamy vanilla fudge, followed by fresh floral hints and subtle malted barley. Fragrant pear with sweet barley sugar and green apple unfolds into ripe melon and honey. Palate: Rounded honey sweetness with a dash of chilli spice, then sugared violets and dry hay give way to creamy roasted hazelnuts. Water brightens lime cordial and soft florals. A delicate, lingering smoke emerges as red apple returns with violet, lavend Finish: Lingering sweet herbal tobacco notes with an edge of fresh menthol, hints of orange, citrus zest and a wisp of smoke on the finish.
