From a 2006 distillation aged 14+ years in a single hogshead, this rare single malt yields 326 bottles. Bittersweet and nutty with autumn warmth, ideal for relaxed evenings. Blair Athol The Single Malts of Scotland - Single Cask #2620 14 year old 54.6% ABV Nose: Brown soda bread, crust darkened, spreads with tart rhubarb jam. Musky notes of thyme and saffron rise, entwined with milk-chocolate-covered digestive biscuits. A gentle whisper of soft pear drifts beneath, bringing a dusky fruitiness to the core of Palate: Fizzy jellies and under-ripe strawberries lead the palate, carried by a tart brightness from the nose. Pineapple-and-lemon ice lollies mingle with chewy fruit-salad sweets, while a final nutty echo appears as an apple-and-cinnamon oat bar. Finish: Tangy pomelos and a smattering of pine nuts last on, with the hint of a sweet red pepper and a few vegetal green tea leaves following behind.
