Bowmore 15 Year Old - Feis Ile 2018

15-year Islay single malt aged in five first-fill Oloroso Sherry puncheons, a distillery exclusive for Feis Ile 2018. Rich Sherry influence with refined balance and subtle peat smoke. Bowmore Feis Ile 2018 Islay Single Malt Scotch 15 year old 52.5% ABV Nose: Rich, sweet Sherry with plenty of spice – cloves, cracked black pepper – but a delicious fruitiness in the form of blood oranges, prunes and fig jam. A silky milk chocolate and burnt biscuit note sits right in the centre, reminiscent of Palate: Silky, sweet and not as spicy as the abv would suggest. Those Sherried notes amplify across the mid-palate – jammy dark fruits, chocolate buttons – ascending into the spices towards the back – pepper, cloves. There’s a tann Finish: …and then a dry, quite bitter finish, which is disappointingly short.
