A REAL, MONTH-INFUSED SLOE GIN – Where supermarket sloe gins rely on syrups, flavourings and shortcuts, Broken Bones Sloe Gin is made the proper way: our award-winning Best European Gin London Dry as a base, infused with wild sloe berries for months until every drop of fruit character has been coaxed into the gin. BUILT ON BROKEN BONES LONDON DRY – The base is no afterthought: this is our 2020 Best European Gin (Gin Guide Awards) — Karst-foraged juniper and rosehip, linden flowers, coriander, green AND black cardamom, angelica, liquorice and lemon zest. Then we slow-infuse with wild sloe berries (the fruit of the blackthorn) for months, until the gin turns deep ruby and tastes like a winter hedgerow. WILD SLOE BERRIES, MONTHS OF INFUSION – Sloe berries (also known as blackthorn berries) are the wild bullaces of the British and Slovenian hedgerows — small, tart, aromatic, with a flavour somewhere between damson, almond and plum. We infuse them into the gin for months — far longer than mass-market producers — until the gin is deeply coloured, richly fruited and naturally sweet from the fruit itself. Only minimal sugar added to round it off. FOUNDED AFTER A BROKEN LEG AND A BROKEN NOSE – The first gin ever distilled in Ljubljana, made by three friends: a philosophy professor, a computer scientist and a marketing veteran. The name is honest — in July 2016, two of the founders ended up in hospital while working on their first whisky barrels (one broken leg, one broken nose). Broken Bones is now one of the most-awarded craft distilleries in the world with 100+ international medals. PLUM, MARZIPAN, DAMSON & RED BERRY — PERFECT WITH PROSECCO, IN A NEGRONI, OR A SLOE GIN FIZZ – Nose: bitter almond/marzipan with ripe plum and rosehip aromatics. Palate: rich blackthorn berry, juicy red fruit brightness, hints of plum and damson, plenty of spicy gin underneath, and a smidge of citrus cutting through cleanly.
