We are very proud of this collaboration Vilac x National Museum of Natural History. Georges-Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon, (1707-1788) directed the Royal Garden of Plants for nearly fifty years, from 1739 until his death: his natural history, in 36 illustrated volumes, is a success from its release. The animal representations in the book have served as inspiration for fine arts, fashion, decoration, educational and youth books. This testifies the Le Buffon lotto game: illustrated lotto game, adorned with all species published in Paris at Appert Son and Vavasseur around 1840. The 96 animal figures present on the 24 boxes that make it up have been made by Nicolas Fleuri Jannin. These magnets are inspired by illustrations in the game of lotto, which one copy is kept at the National Museum of Natural History, within the collections of the Directorate of Libraries and Documentation.
