This smart design groups your pinky and ring finger together for maximum thermal efficiency, just like a classic mitten, while freeing your index finger and thumb. This provides the crucial dexterity needed to adjust bindings, operate zippers, use your phone, or securely grip ski poles and ice axes, all without exposing your hands to the biting cold. It´s the ideal balance for the modern adventurer who demands both comfort and functionality on the mountain.Brave blizzards, deep powder, and wet conditions without a second thought. The Makalu Pro is equipped with a high-performance waterproof and breathable membrane that acts as an impenetrable barrier against external moisture like snow and rain. While it locks water out, it intelligently allows perspiration to escape, ensuring your hands remain comfortably dry from the inside out. This active moisture management is critical for maintaining warmth and preventing the chilling effect of dampness during intense activity.Inside, a superior thermal insulation system provides exceptional warmth-to-weight performance. It effectively traps body heat to create a consistent pocket of warmth around your hands, even as temperatures plummet. This advanced fill is engineered to maintain its insulating properties and loft when exposed to moisture, guaranteeing reliable performance throughout your day on the slopes or during a multi-day trek.Built for a life of adventure, the Makalu Pro features an exceptionally durable and tactile palm. The reinforced material offers outstanding grip and resistance to abrasion, whether you´re handling ropes, skis, or navigating rugged terrain. An extended cuff with a simple-to-use drawcord closure creates a complete seal against deep snow, while the adjustable wrist strap allows for a precise, secure fit. For added convenience, an elastic security leash ensures you never drop a mitten from the ski lift, and a soft panel on the thumb provides a gentle surface for wiping your nose or goggles. The CAIRN Makalu Pro is more than just a mitten, it is an essential piece of equipment for the serious skier and mountaineer.Technical Specifications* Gender: Men* Type: Mitten (Lobster Style)* Design: 3-finger hybrid construction for warmth and dexterity* Weather Protection: High-performance waterproof and breathable membrane* Closure: Adjustable wrist strap for a secure fit* Additional Features: Elasticated wrist leash, soft nose-wipe thumb panel. tradeinn Snowinn
