Calvados apple brandy is produced from 120 specific apple varieties in the Normandy region of France. Boulard calvados is the leader of the Calvados Pays d'Auge appellation, the most prestigious among the three appellations of Calvados, since 1825. Boulard VSOP calvados is the result of the blending of different Calvados Pays d'Auge, double distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged for at least 4 years in oak barrels. Once blended, this VSOP stays in casks enough time to reach its characteristic smoothness. Fruity, elegant oaky notes, hazelnut, toast and brioche on the nose. Taste is balanced and harmonious with vanilla notes, oaky, with distinctive ripe apples and applesauce.
