Carpathian Single Malt is distilled, matured and bottled at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, located near the Carpathian Mountains It is made using 100% malted barley produced in Romania, with sub-Carpathian water Alexandrion Group is Romania’s largest spirits and wine producer and they use wine casks that are sourced from prestigious producers of famous wines The whisky has been under the stewardship of master distiller Allan Anderson, who holds more than 30-years’ experience in Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey distillation Carpathian Single Malt by Alexandrion is the first and only Romanian single malt Carpathian Bourbon Casks Peated Single Malt is Romania’s 1st peated single malt whisky has matured for four years in select bourbon casks. The malted barley is sourced from partners in Belgium, smoked with the best Scottish peat imparting a phenol content of 35ppm which leaves a nice smoky flavour whilst retaining the sweetness Appearance: Pale straw colour, clear, medium viscosity on the legs. Nose: Delicate and lightly peated with notes of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch and candies Taste: Slightly medicinal but sweet with hints of peat & hot chillies. Finish: Long, intense, and hot with a peaty lingering finish.
