The high-quality, fully-coated glass optics ensure maximum light transmission for crisp, high-contrast views. What truly sets this telescope apart is its robust German Equatorial mount complete with a pre-installed Right Ascension motor drive. The equatorial mount is specifically designed for astronomy, allowing you to easily track celestial objects as they move across the sky due to the Earth´s rotation. With the included MD motor drive, this tracking becomes automatic. Once you´ve aligned the telescope, the motor will keep your target perfectly centered in the eyepiece, allowing for relaxed, extended observation sessions without constant manual adjustments. This feature is invaluable for sharing views with family and friends or for those interested in dipping their toes into basic astrophotography.Setting up your AstroMaster 130 EQ-MD is quick and effortless, with no tools required. The rugged, pre-assembled tripod features sturdy 1.25-inch steel tube legs, providing a stable and vibration-free platform essential for clear viewing at high magnifications. A convenient deluxe accessory tray is included to keep your eyepieces and other small items organized and within easy reach during your observations.Locating objects in the vastness of space is made simple with the permanently mounted StarPointer red-dot finderscope. Unlike traditional finders, you simply look through the finder´s window and place the illuminated red dot over the celestial object you wish to view. Then, look through the main telescope´s eyepiece, and your target will be there, ready for exploration. This comprehensive package includes two 1.25-inch eyepieces to provide different levels of magnification. Use the 20mm eyepiece for wide-field, low-power views, perfect for scanning the Milky Way or locating star clusters. Switch to the 10mm eyepiece for high-power, close-up views of planets and the Moon. As a bonus, you also receive a free download of Celestron's Starry Night Basic Edition software, a top-rated planetarium program that will help you learn the night sky, identify celestial objects, and plan your future observing sessions.
