You can find us at 9 degrees north latitude; the location of the only ageing cellar in Costa Rica. 9 degrees north latitude - We are deeply proud to be the only rum in Costa Rica that has been “aged by nature.” Our premium rum is reserved and aged in our exceptional cellar, which is surrounded by an inter-urban biological corridor. This boasts exceptional biodiversity, and naturally provides the perfect conditions (with just the right balance of freshness and humidity) for ageing. Authentic Gran Legado rum - The Ron Centenario Reserva 12-year-old rum represents the best of our traditional ageing system. It has been aged for 12 years in American White Oak barrels that used to contain Scotch whisky. The extended ageing process achieves a balanced sweetness, with strong notes of vanilla and red fruits, a balanced body and a permanence of flavours, creating a unique mouthfeel. Sustainable Costa Rican rums - At Ron Centenario, we are deeply committed to sustainability and preserving Costa Rica’s exceptional forests. That’s why we use 99.98% solar energy and a portable water well. Our bottles are also made with recycled materials, cotton cases and vegetable varnishes, to ensure minimal environmental impact. Innovative and impactful - To ensure the long-term protection of our world-renowned forests, we take part in programmes such as Nature’s Godparent and are in alliance with Rescue Center Costa Rica. We also pride ourselves on our internal actions, which include reforestation, river cleaning, and providing support to our local communities.
