ORIGIN: Our Ceylon OP Long Leaf tea comes from the Dimbula district of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) – island country in the Indian Ocean. The island's unique climate and altItude (2000 – 6000 feet above sea level) contribute to the tea's distinctive qualities. ABOUT: The tea consists of large, whole leaves. The leaves are tightly rolled and have a wiry appearance. When brewed, Ceylon tea produces a nice, medium-bodied, amber-coloured liquor with a bright yet subtle flavour profile with sweet undertones. BENEFITS: Ceylon tea contains antioxidants. It is also known to contain higher levels of potassium than other black teas – one cup can have up to 25mg of potassium (this tea has not been tested for potassium content). Its moderate-to-high caffeine levels may provide an energy boost. USES: This tea is versatile and can be enjoyed on its own or with milk and sugar, making it suitable for both traditional Western-style tea preparation and Eastern-style tea consumption. BREWING: Allow 1- 1½ teaspoon per cup. Pour the freshly boiled water onto the leaves. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The brewing time and water temperature can be adjusted based on personal preferences.
