Wool moulds to the shape of the frog rather than sitting flat on top of it, so the pad follows the underside of the hoof and stays in contact where it's wanted. It's breathable and hygroscopic, which is a long way of saying it draws the wet and the muck away from the hoof rather than trapping it against the foot. Wool absorbs many times its own weight in moisture without feeling wet, and it keeps letting air through while it does it, so the hoof isn't sealed up. Wash it, dry it and use it again. When it finally gives up it composts, so there's nothing to send to landfill at the end of its working life. Made in the UK from sheep wool felted onto a jute carrier. 10% of profit goes to Buy Land Plant Trees CIC.
