Rare 45-year-old Speyside single malt from a closed distillery, drawn from a single refill American oak hogshead (cask #2563). Distilled 15 Oct 1975, bottled Dec 2020 at 47.9% ABV; 148 bottles. Long maturation in oak reveals evolving character. Convalmore (silent) Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Single Cask #2563 45 year old 47.9% ABV Nose: Citrus aromas, lemon and lime compliment sweet desiccated coconut. White chocolate notes develop alongside soft dark honey and nougat. Palate: Sweet honeycomb flavours combine with soft apple crumble. Vibrant fruity pears and peaches give way to mature oak. Finish: A medium and sweet finish with lingering toasted hazelnuts.
