Built around a powerful metal frame, this reel provides an unyielding backbone when you're hooked into the fish of a lifetime. This robust construction prevents any frame flex under extreme pressure, ensuring that the internal drive train remains in perfect alignment. The result is a seamless transfer of power from the handle to the rotor, giving you maximum cranking force and a smooth, confident feel during the most intense fights. This structural integrity not only enhances performance but also significantly extends the life of the reel´s internal components. At the core of its fish-stopping ability is a high-performance drag system. Employing a proven combination of Teflon® and stainless steel washers, the drag delivers silky-smooth, consistent pressure from the initial run to the final moments of the battle. This system is designed to dissipate heat effectively and resist drag fade, giving you the control needed to tire out powerful, hard-running fish without the jerky, inconsistent performance that can lead to broken lines and lost opportunities. It's a drag you can set and forget, trusting it to perform flawlessly every time.Every detail of the DAIWA Black Gold is designed with durability and the angler´s experience in mind. The reel is protected by a tough, corrosion-proof hard anodized finish, arming it against the harsh realities of saltwater spray and humid environments. This makes it an exceptional choice for inshore, nearshore, and coastal angling. The comfortable wooden grip provides a classic touch and a secure, pleasant hold during long hours on the water.
