Denso Tape is a self-adhesive petrolatum tape designed for long-term corrosion protection. It is cold-applied, remains pliable over a wide temperature range, and is suitable for protecting buried or exposed pipes, rods, cables, valves, and metal fittings. The tape is non-hardening, non-cracking, and highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis, salts, and micro-organisms, while being highly impermeable to water, water vapour, and gases. It is supplied in green and is compatible with various pipe and fitting materials requiring corrosion protection. The construction features a grease-impregnated petrolatum composition wrapped around a non-woven synthetic fibre fabric to form a flexible, protective barrier.

Installation and usage

Denso Tape is cold applied and remains plastic over a wide temperature range, is non-hardening and non-cracking, and is highly impermeable to water, water vapour and gases. It is used for the protection of buried or exposed pipes, rods, cables, valves and metal fittings from corrosion. For installation, wrap the tape tightly around the surface with each turn overlapping the previous one to ensure a secure seal, and ensure the surface is clean and dry before application for optimal adhesion. The tape is composed of non-woven synthetic fibre fabric impregnated and coated with a neutral compound based on saturated petroleum hydrocarbons and inert siliceous fillers.
