ORIGIN: The ‘base’ of this tea is Ceylon Single Origin black tea that comes from the island of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) in the Indian Ocean. This rich and refreshing variety of tea is then imbued with the oil of bergamot: a citrus fruit native to southern Italy. The oil is extracted from the peels of these lovely fruits. ABOUT: The combination of black Ceylon tea with bergamot oil creates this bold, citrusy flavour. The cornflowers not only add their bright-blue colour but they also bring this light, sweet undertones to the already rich palate of Earl Grey tea leaves. BENEFITS: Ceylon tea, like other black teas, contains antioxidants. Its moderate-to-high caffeine levels make it suitable for a morning drink or for an afternoon pick-me-up. USES: Our Earl Grey Blue loose leaf tea, when brewed, tastes best without additives but can also be served with a touch of milk or a slice of lemon, but this can vary according to taste. BREWING: Allow 1-2 teaspoons per cup. Pour the freshly boiled water onto the leaves. Steep time: 3 to 5 minutes. The brewing time and water temperature can be adjusted based on personal preferences.
