Specifically designed as the perfect fit for the EHEIM Skim350 (3536) surface skimmer, this 2-pack of high-quality filter cartridges is essential for cultivating a healthy and visually appealing aquatic environment for your fish. Ensure your skimmer continues to perform its vital function of removing surface film and organic waste, promoting better gas exchange and light penetration. These are not just simple sponges, they are advanced filter cartridges for mechanical and biological filtration. The dual-action performance is critical for a stable and thriving aquarium ecosystem. As water passes through the cartridge, dirt particles become trapped in the porous foam material. This immediate mechanical cleaning action is your first line of defense against unsightly surface film, dust, and floating micro-debris, resulting in a crystal-clear water surface that enhances the beauty of your aquarium.Beyond simply trapping physical waste, the true strength of these cartridges lies in their biological capability. At the same time, the material offers a large colonisation surface area for the purification bacteria. These beneficial microorganisms are the invisible heroes of your aquarium, establishing colonies within the foam´s vast network of pores. They work tirelessly to convert toxic ammonia and nitrite—byproducts of fish waste and uneaten food—into less harmful nitrate. Even after a short maturation period, the foam cartridges perform not only mechanical water purification but also the crucial biological decomposition of harmful substances. This dual-stage filtration ensures a safe, stable, and healthy habitat for your aquatic inhabitants.Designed for longevity and cost-effectiveness, the cartridges are reusable several times over, offering exceptional value. Maintenance is straightforward and thoughtfully designed to preserve the delicate biological balance you´ve cultivated. To clean them, simply rinse them and squeeze them out in a bucket of used aquarium water. This gentle process removes trapped debris without using harsh tap water, ensuring that the bacteria cultures are not completely destroyed. This allows the filter to quickly return to full biological efficiency post-cleaning, preventing dangerous spikes in ammonia or nitrite.Features:* Foam traps dirt particles mechanically* Bacteria cultures colonise in the pores* Reusable several times over* To clean just rinse and squeeze outTechnical Specifications:* Product: EHEIM Skim350 Coarse Foam Cartridges* EHEIM Part Number: 3536210* Compatibility: EHEIM Skim350 (Article No. 3536)* Package Contents: 2 x Coarse Foam Filter Cartridges* Attributes: Fish, Sponges. tradeinn Bricoinn
