It absorbs water and releases it slowly, creating the ideal moist environment required by many tropical and forest-dwelling species. This is crucial for facilitating proper shedding, maintaining respiratory health, and preventing dehydration in humidity-loving animals.Furthermore, this substrate actively encourages your pet´s natural instincts. Its soft, loose texture is perfect for stimulating digging, burrowing, and nesting behaviors. Species like frogs, salamanders, and various burrowing snakes and lizards will feel secure and comfortable as they create their own shelters and hiding spots, reducing stress and promoting natural activity.Main Features and Versatility:EXO TERRA Plantation Soil is incredibly versatile, making it a top choice for a wide range of terrarium setups. It can be used damp for tropical species such as crested geckos, dart frogs, and tarantulas, or it can be used dry for desert-dwelling reptiles, providing a more absorbent and less humid environment.Beyond its use as a standalone substrate, it serves as an excellent nutritional planting medium for live terrarium plants. This makes it an ideal foundation for creating beautiful, self-sustaining bioactive vivariums. The substrate has been heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination and ensure a safe, clean start for your habitat. Its remarkable absorbency also helps to soak up animal waste, making spot cleaning simple and effective, which contributes to a more hygienic enclosure for your pet.Technical Specifications:* Product: Plantation Soil Coconut Fiber Substrate* Brand: EXO TERRA* Volume (Expanded): 8.8 Liters* Format: Compressed Brick* Attributes: Reptiles, Substrates* Ideal For: Humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, burrowing animals, and as a planting medium for live terrarium plants.* Preparation: Simply place the brick in an appropriately sized container, add approximately 3-4 liters of water, and allow it to soak for about 30 minutes until it has fully expanded and become loose.Give your pet the authentic feel of a tropical forest floor.
