Can be used as a normal volume or tone control, or control pickup phasing, series/parallel switching, coil-taps, and more. The high flux 500K ohm potentiometer, gives the guitar a brighter sound, generally used with humbuckers. Note: there is no fixed formula for the tone, depending on guitar sound you like.
