It is possible to perform continuity and diode tests whilst temperature can be measured between -40 ̊C and 400 ̊C. A μA range is useful for testing flame sensors and the multimeter has both VFD and low-impedance LoZ voltage measurement functionality. It is very easy to operate the FLIR DM66 thanks to its clearly labelled selector dial and simple push buttons. It is capable of minimum/maximum/average recording and has an auto-ranging function to ensure the best possible precision over the pertinent measurement range, although the user can also select the range manually. The large backlit screen shows digital readouts for each parameter and it has a 5/s measurement rate. The user can also recall previous measurements in order to compare them with previous patterns. The FLIR DM66 is designed to withstand the bumps and knocks of regular use in the field. It has a sturdy yet ergonomic construction with an IP40 ingress protection rating whilst a Cat IV 300V Cat III 600V safety rating certifies it is safe to use on different installation types. The non-contact voltage detection function also helps prevent the user from coming into contact with live conductors.
