The Fluke 568 Ex Intrinsically Safe Infrared Thermometer can accurately measure temperature via IR technology (-40 ̊C to 800 ̊C) and a type K thermocouple (-40 ̊C to 260 ̊C) in hazardous environments around the world, thanks to its approved status from a series of international bodies. As an intrinsically safe instrument, it is suitable for use in industries with a threat of explosion (e.g. oil, gas, pharmaceuticals) and boasts excellent measurement capabilities.
In addition to its intrinsically safe status, the non-contact temperature measurement of the Fluke 568 Ex also makes it a safer device during operation because the user need not approach hot surfaces. The enormous 50:1 distance-to-spot ratio means that the operator can measure small objects from a distance whilst a single-point laser highlights the measurement point to ensure accuracy.
The Fluke 568 Ex’s adjustable emissivity level and emissivity table allow compensation for different surface types during inspections, and the supplied type K thermocouple constitutes a useful alternative to IR measurement for objects within touching distance. Fully adjustable alarms warn the user when temperature falls outside acceptable limits.
Results are conveyed via the backlit digital screen, and the current reading can be frozen on the screen for up to 20 seconds. Display options include max reading, min reading, average reading and differential temperature so the user gets a clear picture of heat patterns in the target object. There is space for a maximum of 99 readings in the internal memory of the Fluke 568 Ex.
The Fluke 568 Ex is light and ergonomic with a simple interface in five different languages (English, French, German, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese). It is supplied with a conductive hard case for transport in hazardous areas in addition to a type K thermocouple and batteries. A mount on the bottom of the device allows it to be screwed onto the top of a tripod.
