Forgefix Carriage Bolts are designed for timber-to-timber joining. They feature a zinc-plated finish to resist corrosion and come complete with a hex nut, with full threading to 100 mm. Also known as Cup Square Hex Bolts, they have a domed or round head and a short square neck under the head, which engages the workpiece to prevent rotation during tightening. The square section (or rib neck variant) helps grip into timber, making them well suited for timber joist construction, decking, and other timber-to-timber applications. The bolts conform to DIN 603 and DIN 934 standards and are available in a range of sizes to suit various projects. Zinc coatings create a barrier to oxidation and can act as a sacrificial anode if the coating is damaged, contributing to a longer-lasting finish.
