Butterfly Pendant Ø21 Chrome from Frandsen is a beautiful and elegant pendant that embodies the Danish brand’s design DNA. Like the original Ball designed by Benny Frandsen in 1968, Butterfly is characterised by its simple, curvy shapes and fashionable hues. The lovely pendant consists of three half-domes presented in reverse of one another. The round lines are broken by sharp edges where the spherical shapes meet, so the relaxing and inviting shape has some edge to it—literally speaking. The dynamic gives the lamp a sculptural expression that rubs off on the existing décor, impressing anyone who looks in the direction of the lamp. A good light emerges from the opalised base, and the top of the lamp likewise lets out some light. This is thanks to the series of small discreet holes that give the lamp a comfortable ambient light.

Downwards, the Butterfly pendant light shines through the opal white glass dome, which serves as a diffuser and creates a special lighting atmosphere. Together with the matt colouring, the design creates a light that can be used in a variety of environments, such as above small tables or chests of drawers. Butterfly is a design by Toni Rie. She has been in charge of the design team at Danish lighting manufacturer Frandsen since 2013. The company has been designing and manufacturing Lamps since 1968.
