Orient™ designer hanging light in black with rosewood element This hanging light captivates with its aesthetic design, which dates back to 1963. The creator of the Orient™ pendant light, Jo Hammerborg, designed 180 lights during his long career as chief designer (1957-1980) at the Danish company Fog&Mørup. His designs are characterised by his great skill in combining form, function and aesthetics. Some of these lights have won awards. In 2013, the family of the designer, who died in 1982, collaborated with the Danish company FRITZ HANSEN to reintroduce the Orient™ pendant light to the market after his works had only been available second-hand. With its timelessly beautiful appearance, the Orient™ pendant light is a versatile light source that can be combined in many ways and, when hung above a table, for example, serves as both a light source and an eye-catching feature. The Danish manufacturer FRITZ HANSEN was founded in 1872 by Danish carpenter Fritz Hansen and stands for precise craftsmanship, unique design and premium quality. Throughout the company's history, many renowned architects and furniture designers from around the world, such as Verner Panton, Arne Jacobsen, Piero Lissoni, Cecilie Manz and Kasper Salto, have influenced the company's collections.

Lamp MastersThe Orient P2 pendant in Black (3m) is a simple, streamlined design with an excellent output of light – and it doesn’t hurt that it’s made from some of the highest-quality materials. It was created by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 for Fog & Møreup, once the most important lighting company in Denmark. 50 years after the pendant was created, Lightyears decided to re-launch Orient in partnership with the Hammerborg family, who are now in charge of Jo Hammerborg’s design archive. The organic shape of the lamp perfectly accentuates the depth of the shade. Thewooden top creates a dynamic transition from the metal shade to the tightly woven fabric cable. At the top of Orient, there are 21 slim, vertical slits that allow light to filter through the shade. The light source is well-hidden by the shape of the lamp. This ensures a soft and comfortable light without glare.
