The Turbostar 40 mm tape from Gallagher is the highest quality and safest 40 mm tape for horses. This tape is ideal for both short and long, permanent horse fences. Due to the high visibility and large contact surface, the risk of injuries is minimal and the tape forms a very good visual barrier. Best conduction With a very low resistance of 0.06 Ω/m, this tape conducts 40 times better than standard tape. This is due to four tinned copper wires of 0.30 mm that lie in the centre of the tape and are connected to each other. This ensures that the entire fence remains well electrified, even at lengths of more than 500 metres. In addition, 10 stainless steel wires of 0.20 mm, evenly distributed over the width, provide electricity over the entire contact surface. The edges of the tape are also electrified, which prevents horses from lifting or pressing down the tape. Reinforced design with minimal stretch The tape is extra reinforced with a thick edge wire at the top and bottom. This prevents tearing when damaged and ensures very little stretch, keeping the tape taut and requiring little maintenance. A taut tape is safer: it breaks faster under high pressure, for instance when a horse in panic runs through the fence. This reduces the risk of injuries or entanglement. The open Windflow structure makes the tape less susceptible to wind, causing it to flap less, last longer, and not startle horses with flapping tape. Reliable breaking point and matching accessories With a tensile strength of 520 kg, the tape is strong, yet it breaks in the right places if a horse in panic tries to escape through the fence. It is important to use sturdy insulators and corner posts for this. If weaker parts break before the tape, the safety effect is lost.
