18-year-old Speyside single malt from a 2017 Special Release, aged in ex-bodega and refill oak butts from two malt batches with different yeasts. Bottled at natural cask strength 54.8%. 5,352 bottles. Fresh fruit, balanced oak spice. Glen Elgin 2017 Special Release Single Malt Scotch 18 year old 54.8% ABV Nose: Malted milk biscuits, fresh herbs, toffee apple, cinnamon spice, green fruit salad, vanilla doughnuts. Palate: Buttery sweet pastry, poached pears, apple bon bons, fresh herbs and grassy barley mid palate, aromatic spices merging into waxy, stock syrup mouthfeel. Some nuances of marzipan, nougart and breakfast rolls with apricot jam evident too. Finish: Oily and herbal with waxy orchard fruits and warming spice, perfumed green fruit and peppery anise oak.
