18-year-old Speyside single malt from a 2017 Special Release, aged in ex-bodega and refill oak butts from two malt batches with different yeasts. Bottled at natural cask strength 54.8%. 5,352 bottles. Fresh fruit, balanced oak spice. Glen Elgin 2017 Special Release Single Malt Scotch 18 year old 54.8% ABV Nose: Malted milk biscuits with fresh herbs mingle with toffee apple, cinnamon spice, green fruit salad and vanilla doughnuts. Palate: Butter-sweet pastry with poached pears and apple bonbons, supported by fresh herbs and grassy barley on the mid-palate. Aromatic spices weave through a waxy, stock-syrup mouthfeel, with hints of marzipan, nougat and breakfast rolls and a touch of Finish: Oily and herbal with waxy orchard fruits and warming spice, perfumed green fruit and peppery anise oak.
