The Ibiza pendant light is a product from Good & Mojo, the sustainable brand of the Dutch lighting manufacturer IT'S ABOUT ROMI. Its lampshade has been hand-woven in Vietnam and has an interesting shape reminiscent of a large sun hat with a wavy brim. However, the designers drew inspiration for the lampshade’s shape from the island of Ibiza, with its mountains and hills. Good & Mojo is committed to selling sustainable, high-quality lights, thereby benefiting both people and the environment. Like all the label’s lights, the lampshade of this pendant light is made from a sustainable material. Bamboo is one of the brand’s core materials and is characterised by its versatility. Bamboo grows very quickly – up to one metre a day – and can be harvested in 3 to 5 years. Once cut, new shoots continually grow back from the roots. Bamboo also produces 35 per cent more oxygen than a tree. It is cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilisers. The bamboo lampshades are handcrafted using traditional weaving techniques in small villages in Vietnam. It takes between 3 and 6 hours to make a lampshade – each one is unique. The pendant light looks particularly decorative when fitted with an LED filament LED bulb, perhaps even in a globe shape. The open shade design, with its many gaps, creates unique effects of light and shadow. The Good & Mojo range consists of sustainable lights and is guided by the motto: “When you buy light, you give light.” This is achieved through collaboration with charitable foundations such as the WakaWaka Foundation, which uses donations to provide solar products to people living off the grid. Since 2019, the Good & Mojo brand has also been supporting the Eden Project. For every light sold, a tree is planted – to date, over 150,000 trees have been planted through this initiative.
