Satellite – timelessly modern designer floor lamp for outdoor use by Mathieu Matégot This luminous accessory still looks modern today, even though it was created in 1953. Its creator, the Hungarian-French designer, architect and artist Mathieu Matégot (1910–2001), developed Rigitulle on the basis of perforated sheet metal. This is a thin metal layer perforated in various patterns, which is flexible and can be shaped into the desired form. In the Satellite floor lamp, the oval body of the lampshade is made of Rigitulle with a coloured finish, using corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The fine gaps in the material allow the light from the supplied linear LED bulb, which is protected from moisture in a cylinder, to be gently emitted into the surrounding area. Above this is a hood painted black at the top and white at the bottom, which reflects the light diffusely downwards. Satellite can be set up using the included stand or anchored to the ground using a ground spike. Power is supplied via a cable with a power point. Manufactured by Danish manufacturer Gubi in impeccable quality, the Satellite floor lamp is the ideal furnishing element for verandas, terraces and pavilions.

Rigitulle is a special manufacturing technique invented by the light's designer, Mathieu Matégot. It involves bending and folding a metal plate using a specific process to create an elongated shape with a unique textile-like appearance. The soft shapes of the elongated lampshade have a delicate, organic feel, which is wonderfully complemented by an asymmetrical, triangular outer lampshade that sits on the light like a hat, giving the impression of a sculptural and form-oriented designer light of high aesthetic value.
