Classic pendant light Semi - timeless light source with a harmonious design The design of the Semi pendant light was created by Danish designers Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup. They have created a light source that is characterised by its classic form and a very atmospheric lighting effect, which makes Semi ideal for general room lighting and especially for use above a table. The harmonious design in a concave, upwardly tapering form can be harmonised with many furnishing styles. The two designers Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup have been working together since graduating from the Danish School of Architecture in 1969. They initially joined the office of architect Henning Larsen. Since then, Bonderup and Thorup have designed clocks and shop interiors for Georg Jensen, the Arcticum Museum (Finland) and were responsible for the harbour facilities in Elsinore, from urban planning to the ferry terminal - high-quality product from Danish manufacturer Gubi

In step with the return of the 1970s, GUBI has adapted and fine-tuned their popular Semi to fit the tones of the time. The 2022 collection of Semi pendant lights comes in shades that compliment the colours of the 1970s. Roasted Pumpkin, Fennel Seed and Dark Cocoa are the three new shades - and the earthy, warm and homely tones fit perfectly as both contrasting elements in the strict, streamlined interior design, as well as in the period-correct classic seventies home. The lamp is the same beautiful shape that you already know from the Semi pendant lamps - the beautiful curved shape and the diffuse, conformal light that won first prize at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture when the lamp was first designed back in 1968.
