9209 Table Lamp Polished Brass is a lovely lamp with a beautiful design that incorporates many of Paavo Tynell's hallmarks: The lamp is made of brass, which with its deep, shiny surface matches the colour of the light and gives it a deep, warm glow when you turn it on. At the same time, the lampshade is perforated in small decorative triangles that form Tyrell's signature pattern. The perforation creates a star-like glow that creates beautiful secondary lighting that aesthetically accompanies the primary light that flows out from the wide opening at the bottom of the lampshade. In Tyrell's home country Finland, the 9209 Table Lamp is also referred to as "Kypärä" which means helmet in Finnish. The helmet-shaped lampshade ensures that the light is directed into an efficient downlight and gives the lamp a special character with a high recognition value.

The semi-circular lampshade, which is open at the bottom, is made of polished brass, as is the round base. The arm is wrapped in lacquered rattan. The light from the E27 bulb to be inserted into the lampshade is not only emitted downwards, but also through three groups of fine holes in the shade, which are made by hand. The design of this table lamp, which was first produced in 1940, was created by industrial designer Paavo Tynell, whose concepts are considered milestones in Finnish lighting design and who is known as "the man who made Finland light up".
