The design, reminiscent of Japanese rice paper lamps, comes from Space Copenhagen, the design studio of Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, which has been in existence since 2005. Space Copenhagen stands for exclusive design in which contrasts are reflected, such as classic and modern, minimalist and sculptural, light and shadow. The textile shade of Unbound is made of natural-colored linen fabric and, like the gray marble base, has an asymmetrical teardrop shape. At the same time, the shade can be completely rotated over the marble base. Unbound Table Lamp Canvas is characterised by genius craftsmanship with a ball joint on the base that allows for 360-degree rotation of the lampshade. The design was created for GUBI by the versatile Danish duo Space Copenhagen. The Unbound Table Lamp is almost reminiscent of a candle. The tall, cylindrical shape and playful, asymmetrical teardrop-shape give the lamp an eye-catching and sculptural look. It emits a soft glow, making it the perfect choice for bedrooms and reading nooks. The combination of the light canvas lampshade and the dense marble base gives the lamp a sense of purposeful completeness, which is rarely seen to this extent. The Unbound Table Lamp is available in two colours. It also comes as a floor lamp in two sizes. Combine the different Unbound lamps to complete the look—an art installation in itself.
