A richly sherried single malt aged in Oloroso casks, triple distilled and unpeated, delivering a cakey, winter-spiced profile with figgy plum pudding notes. Limited to 9,000 bottles; distilled 2004, bottled 2018. Hazelburn Sherry Wood 2018 Edition Single Malt Scotch 13 year old 47.4% ABV Nose: Sherry drenched dried fruit, fig jam, sticky toffee pudding, nuts in caramel, ginger cake, baked bananas, amaretti biscuits dipped in mocha, clove studded orange, chocolate covered raisins and subtle rootsy/coatal notes. Palate: Bold and dense Sherry wood delivery (Oloroso soaked fruitcake) chocolate covered raisins, sticky dates, dried banana chips, machiato coffee with demorera sugar, some autumnal leafy and winter spice notes complete this chewy and full bodied malt. Finish: Fig rolls, sticky ginger cake, nut brittle, malt loaf, burnt butter, dark honeycomb, salted butterscotch, more Sweet and sticky Sherry wood and dense fruitcake notes on a long and moreish finish.
