Hazelburn Sherry Wood 2018 Edition Single Malt Scotch 13 year old 47.4% ABV Nose: Sherry-drenched dried fruits, fig jam and sticky toffee pudding mingle with caramelised nuts, ginger cake and baked bananas; amaretti biscuits dipped in mocha, clove-studded orange, chocolate-covered raisins, finished with a subtle coastal lift. Palate: Bold, dense Sherry wood coats the palate with Oloroso-soaked fruitcake. Chocolate-covered raisins, sticky dates and dried banana chips mingle with macchiato coffee and Demerara sugar, while autumnal leaves and winter spice lend a chewy, full-bodie Finish: Fig rolls, sticky ginger cake, nut brittle, malt loaf, burnt butter, dark honeycomb, salted butterscotch, more sweet and sticky sherry wood and dense fruitcake notes on a long and moreish finish.
