Feather only needs to send the i2c command to the chip, telling it which LEDs to light up, and it will handle it for you. This reduces a significant amount of work and pin requirements for Feather. Since it only uses I2C for control, it can be used with any Feather and can share I2C pins with other sensors or displays.
