19-year single malt from a historic Speyside distillery now closed; distilled 1996 and aged to full maturity for a dry, leafy, slightly oily profile with notes recalling Rosebank. Imperial (silent) Gordon & MacPhail Single Malt Scotch 19 year old 43% ABV Nose: Rich tea or digestive biscuits, herbal honey, pine nuts, sour apple, singed straw, leafy. Palate: Poached pears in syrup, clove spice, almond milk, ginger latte, subtle smoke, herbs, fresh straw, malty toffee, lemon rind, aniseed, oily body. Finish: Peppery and malty with leafy/savoury nut shell dryness. Marzipan, sour apple and pear, clove and ginger, malty biscuits.
