Kavalan Manzanilla Cask

Founded in 2005, Kavalan is Taiwan’s first whisky distillery and has become one of the most recognised producers in the world, known for its innovative use of casks. Kavalan’s uniqueness is its ability to master tropical aging to create a unique and sophisticated range of Single Malts The Kavalan distillery is situated in Yilan in North Eastern Taiwan. The site was chosen for the abundance of pure spring water which flows from the Snowy Mountain range and the fresh, clean air. The Siberian wind which blows in from the ocean during winter helps create complex flavours during aging Thanks to Taiwan’s sub-tropical climate Kavalan’s whiskies mature at a faster rate than their counterparts in Scotland creating a liquid with smooth, rich flavours Finished in Manzanilla sherry casks, this has lent the whisky a delicate saltiness, along with flavours of vanilla, orange and mint
