PRODUCER - Klein Zalze, nestled in the heart of the Cape Winelands, was revitalised when Kobus Basson purchased the estate in 1996. Although winemaking has been a part of this land since 1695, it's the recent investment and methodical approach that have catapulted Klein Zalze to prominence TASTING NOTES - Made from Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, this wine has multiple complex flavours. Notes of nectar, honey and natural sugars are produced during the winemaking process by adding pure grape spirit to the fermenting grapes. Ages in oak barrels broadens the wine, giving it power and weight through the sweetness FOOD PAIRING - Enjoy this with creamy desserts. It also accompanies mature cheeses wonderfully. PROCESS - Because this wine is non-vintage, its production is an ongoing process. Only a small amount of wine is taken from the barrels each year, which is then topped up with fresh wine to continue the process.
