Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Scotch 30 year old 53.5% ABV Nose: Mandarin and mango rise to the fore, tempered by toasted almond and coconut. Aromatic peat oils weave through cedar, wintergreen and smoked sage. Palate: A superbly oily mouthfeel coats the palate with bright orange peel, vanilla and coriander leaf, threaded through cedar cigar-box notes and a subtle whisper of wild root ginseng. Finish: Long and evolving, the finish coats the palate with pulpy stone fruits that linger, mingled with chewy green hand-rolled tobacco. A touch of cedar and faint peat weave through the finale, leaving a warm, resinous echo that slowly fades.
