Rather than specialising solely in climbing or flat-road speed, the Xelius is designed as a versatile platform for riders who want responsive handling across climbs, descents and faster sections of road.The carbon frame uses a distinctive seat stay design to balance performance with comfort. The extended seat stays connect further forward around the top tube rather than directly to the seat tube. This leaves more of the seat tube free to flex, while the stays are designed to provide vertical and lateral compliance and help disperse road vibration through the top tube.A Lapierre UD SLI carbon fork complements the frame, helping keep the front end light and responsive. An Acros integrated headset and semi-integrated cable routing contribute to a clean appearance without fully concealing the cockpit components.The cockpit combines a 90mm Lapierre alloy stem with a carbon aero drop handlebar. The bar has 70mm reach, 130mm drop and a subtle 5-degree flare, balancing a traditional road position with a little additional width at the drops.Shimano 105 Di2 provides electronic 2x12-speed shifting.
